Information for Incoming Kindergarteners
SUMMER SCHOOL 2026
May 20 – June 17
We are excited to have your child in summer school!
Kindergarteners should NOT ride the bus to school on the first
day of summer school; however, they are welcome to ride the bus
home that day. Please bring your student entering
Kindergarten to the Southwest Elementary Gym at 9:00 a.m.
on May 20. You will have a brief meeting with your child’s
teacher. After the meeting, teachers will walk students to their
classrooms at Southwest Elementary.
Students will be given a lanyard with an ID tag containing
important information. The lanyard color indicates which bus they
ride or if they are a parent drop off and/or pick up. Students need
to wear these EVERY morning to school and will wear them home
each afternoon. Students, who are dropped off and/or picked up,
will be given a sign to display in your car window to help traffic
move quicker.
