
Central Elementary- Here is some important information from Middle School for our 5th grade students.
FREE PHYSICALS- Tuesday, May 13th from 3:00-5:00 at Mercy Hospital in Dexter for any students planning to participate in athletics next year at MS.
MIDDLE SCHOOL MEET AND GREET- Wednesday, May 14th @ 5:00. This is an opportunity for parents to meet the administration and visit the Middle School building. There will be a parent orientation in the fall once school starts.

Central Elementary - Our band instrument rental/purchase night will be tomorrow - Thursday, May 8, from 4:00-6:00 in the Central cafeteria for students planning to participate in band next year. Music store representatives will be here to walk you through the instrument rental process and you can meet Mr. Jinkerson, the band director. Drop in anytime from 4:00-6:00!

Central Elementary - We will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week next week (May 5-9). If an educator at Central has made an impact on you or your family, we ask that you complete the form below with a message letting that person know what they have meant to you and that they are appreciated! You may write a note to any staff member in the building - teachers, aides, secretaries, administrators, cooks, custodians - any adult who works with your child. Central Elementary Reminder
We will be MAP testing every morning beginning tomorrow and continuing through next Friday, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. During this time, students will be able to enjoy a free breakfast.
Please ensure that your child gets a good night's sleep and encourage them to eat breakfast each morning. We also ask that you avoid signing your child out between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM each day during this testing period. Thank you!

3rd Grade
ELA: Using your descriptive paragraph about the snow (from Wednesday), circle all the verbs and underline the nouns.
Math: Write your 8, 9, and 10 multiplication facts (3 times each)
4th Grade
ELA: Write five complete sentences that include a plural noun. Example nouns - girls, people, cats, basketballs. OR - read a book and write a paragraph with five sentences about the book you read.
Math: Write and answer five subtraction problems with 4 digits - 4 digits that require regrouping and solve. (Ex. 6234 - 1789)
5th Grade
ELA: Using the same "Building a Snowman" paragraph, go back and underline all nouns used in each sentence.
Math: Write and answer three problems that include two decimals (Ex. 2.23 x 4.5 = 10.035)

3rd Grade
ELA: Using your paragraph about the snow (from 2/19), circle capital letters and punctuation.
Math: Write your 5, 6, and 7 multiplication facts. (3 times each)
4th Grade
ELA: Write a paragraph with 5 sentences about what you would like to do on a snow day. Use complete sentences and indent your paragraph
Math: Write 5 division problems with a 4-digit dividend and solve (Ex. 2345 ÷ 5)
5th Grade
ELA: Use the "Building a Snowman" paragraph you wrote on 2/19 - go back and circle main and/or helping verbs.
Math: Solve the following problems:
A. 1/8 x 1/5 = ?
B. 4/8 x 1/4 = ?
C. 8/9 x 3/4 = ?
D. 7/10 x 7/9 = ?
E. 12/11 x 5/6 = ?

Central Elementary - Our book fair and family reading night have been rescheduled for tomorrow (Thursday, February 6) from 5:30-7:00. The book fair will be open and our ELA teachers will have lots of fun activities for the kids. We hope to see you all there!

Central Elementary- Please have your student complete both the ELA and Math assignment and return tomorrow.
3rd grade:
ELA- read AR book and write a paragraph about what was read.
Math- write your 6,7,8, and 9 multiplication facts. (Ex-0x6=0, 1x6= 6.)
4th grade:
ELA- Write 5 sentences with a subject, and verb. Include capital letters and an end mark.
Math-Create 4 long division problems (4 digit dividend) and solve.
5th grade:
ELA-Write a 5-7 sentence paragraph about plans to spend their day. Underline any Main verbs and Helping verbs used in each sentence.

Central Elementary- Our family reading night and book fair scheduled tomorrow night (Monday, February 3rd) will be postponed. We will let you know ASAP when it is rescheduled. AMI assignments that need to be completed will be sent via text tomorrow morning for each grade level.
