Our Winter Homecoming celebration will wrap up with the Homecoming Dance tonight, Friday, January 16. The dance will begin at 9:30 p.m., with student entry through the new main entrance. To help ensure a smooth and safe evening, students should bring both their Homecoming ticket and school ID for entry.

The dance will conclude at 11:00 p.m. For students who need a ride home, we kindly ask that transportation arrive on campus by 10:45 p.m. Any students still on campus after 11:00 p.m. will be prohibited from attending future dances.

HOCO Dance Pick-up Message

We’re excited to host our first home sporting event of the new year and welcome our students, families, and visitors back into our gym! 🏀
As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, we are implementing new security protocols for home events. One of the most visible updates will be the use of our new OpenGate weapons detectors at the entrance to the basketball arena.
What to expect:
All visitors will walk through the detectors before entering.
You do not need to empty your pockets of phones, keys, or money.
We strongly encourage guests to leave bags in their vehicles whenever possible or use a clear bag.
If the system detects an item, visitors may be asked to complete a brief secondary check, which could include emptying pockets or having a bag inspected.
A short explanation of this process is included with this message so everyone knows what to expect before arriving.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we take these steps to keep our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and guests as safe as possible. We appreciate your support and look forward to a great home event!

Correction for DHS credit acquisition summer school dates. Due to the Memorial Day holiday, the first session ends on 6/5 not 6/4 and session 2 is 6/6-6/19. We apologize for any confusion.

DHS Summer School Participants: Students should enter the high school through the entrance located between the main high school entrance and the BEC entrances, near Mrs. Elfrink’s room. Students who drive should park in the teacher parking lot adjacent to this entrance. Students who walk should use the same entrance to enter the building. Bus riders will be dropped off at this location as well. On the first day, students should wait in the hallway near the entrance to meet their instructor for further directions. Thank you!
