Doniphan has asked that we use the east gate of the gym and that our fans sit on the east bleachers. There will be no seating limitations for this game. Admission will be $5.00 and no passes will be accepted. The gate will open at 6:00 p.m.

Class 4 District 1 Boys Tournament Update
On Tuesday, March 2nd, our boys basketball team will play in the semifinal round of the Class 4 District 1 Tournament against the Doniphan Dons . The championship game will be on Friday, March 5th. Both games will be played at the Bearcat Event Center and will tip at 7:00 pm. The gate will open at 6:00 pm.

SEMO Conference Girls Basketball Update
The SEMO Conference Girls basketball tournament will begin on Monday, November 30, at the Bearcat Event Center. Our own Dexter Bearcats will take on Kennett beginning at 5:30. Gabbie Brown finished 5th and Abbie Lloyd finished 15th today at the Class 3 District Cross Country Meet in Arcadia Valley.

District Football Announcement for Friday Night
Spectator COVID rules from Ste. Genevieve Schools
Admission at the gate ($3 for adults and $2 for students for HS and $2 for adults and $1 for students for middle school)
Visiting schools have 400 tickets available
Only allowing people to enter with a ticket given to them by the visiting school.
Masks will be required unless visitors are seated. That includes wearing them when they are entering, exiting or transitioning to and from their seats (using the restroom, visiting the concession stands, etc.)
Families should sit together and strive to socially distance 6 feet from other families and visitors.
Visitors must sit in designated visitor bleachers (Football is far side away from concessions ).

Owensville High School does not require masks or face coverings, they do recommend them to be worn when physical distancing is not possible. They ask that all spectators sit in family groups with 6' distance kept between groups. They are limiting gym capacity to 50%; with this limitation their capacity is slightly over 1,100 spectators. Owensville is confident they will have plenty of room for all spectators from each school. Owensville will assign sections of the gym for spectators from each school and ask that we use the assigned quarter of the gym. Owensville will have floor level and balcony level seating, our assigned section will run from the floor to the top to provide ample room. Our volleyball team will receive 75 vouchers. The holder of these vouchers will guarantee admission, but they do not see us getting anywhere near 1,100 people on Saturday.

We have a limited number of general public tickets available for the Dexter-Ste. Genevieve football game scheduled to be played this Friday at Ste. Genevieve. These tickets will be offered on a first come-first serve basis. If you are interested in tickets, email Josh Dowdy at jdowdy@dexter.k12.mo.us.

This just in.....Our Lady Bearcat Volleyball team just won the Class 3 District 1 Championship tonight. We we will play Owensville in the Class 3 State Sectional. More details on game time will be announced soon. Congrats to our players and coaches!!

Due to a rainy forecast the field trips this week have been rescheduled for next week. Monday, November 2 will be Kindergarten and Wednesday, November 4 will be First and Second grade.

Central Elementary- We will have an early dismissal tomorrow, Thursday, October 22nd @ 11:00, due to Parent/Teacher conferences. Also, there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 23rd. Students will return to school on Monday, October 26th.

Reminder: You must have a ticket to enter any SCAA high school volleyball game on the road. Tickets are not required at the BEC.

Exciting Announcement!! Free Meals!!
The USDA has announced they will extend the summer foods program into the fall to provide a free breakfast, lunch, and snack to all students through the month of December or until there is no longer funding for the federal program. If the funding changes, we will provide this information to families as quickly as possible.
We have been told this program will be retroactive to September 1st. Any charges will be credited to your students lunch account and any payments made will be credited for future use on a lunch balance.
The free meal does not include any ala carte items. They will continue to be available at the high school for cash purchase only.
We are so happy to implement this program beginning with free meals on Tuesday, September 8th and introducing snacks on Monday, September 14th.

Girls tennis has been cancelled for today. We will try again tomorrow.

The tennis match that was rescheduled for today has now been cancelled due to rain. We will try again tomorrow as we take on the Charleston Bluejays. Match will begin at 4:00.

The HS Volleyball game for tomorrow night against Arcadia Valley has been postponed until September 30.

The Girls Tennis match that was cancelled on Friday against Poplar Bluff will be played today at home beginning at 3:30. Good luck to Coach Boles and her team!

Football Friday Update
Football Friday is back! We kick off the season tomorrow night beginning at 7:00 as we travel to Scott City.
Scott City administration has informed us that there will be plenty of room for lawn chairs should anyone want more space for seating. Normal seating will also be available. We encourage everyone to wear a mask when you are not able to practice social distancing. Additionally, Scott City has asked that we use the concession stand on our side of the field. Good luck to our team and coaches! We are fired up to have Football Friday back! Go Bearcats!!

Middle School Fall Sports Announcement
August 17
MS Football will begin at the football field from 3:30-5:30 pm.
MS Cross Country will begin in front of MS from 7:00-8:00 am.

MS Girls Basketball will begin in the MS Gym after school.

MS Cheer Tryouts will be held after school on August 25-27. The clinic will be on Tuesday/Wednesday(8/25-26) and the tryout will be on Thursday(8/27). Please use the link below to complete our online sports and activity waiver. This form is required by our insurance company and must be completed prior to August 9 for any student(grades 7-12) participating in extracurricular events for the 2020-21 school year. This includes band, choir, and athletics. This only take a minute to fill out. If you filled one out for summer activities, you will need to complete another for the 2020-21 school year. The official last day of school is today. We miss you all and wish you a great summer.
If we have not spoken to parents about retention then you know your child has been promoted to the next grade level. Since we did not take grades during 4th quarter report cards will not be issued.

Any items not picked up by tomorrow at 12:30 will be disposed of due to lack of storage.

A front-door school bus evacuation drill will be held on Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11 in the BEC Rear Parking Lot. The drill will be conducted during the morning drop-off. All students who ride a Dexter R-XI school bus will participate in the emergency drill.

There was a fire alarm pulled this morning before school at the TS Hill MS. There was NO fire and everything is back to normal school day.
